In real life I'm a biologist, specialized in electron microscopy. I spend my professional life looking at the very small, and so it is not a surprise that my artwork also focuses mostly on small objects that I photograph using macrolenses. The type of photography I love most is abstract and experimental, whether in Black and White or Color.

Each afternoon around 4 PM, the sun projects these interesting shadows on my living room walls. These are shown as they are, deformed by the tree branches outside, glass panes and furniture - no digital manipulation apart from corrections for brightness/contrast.

All the pictures shown on this page were captured on 35 mm film using a Nikon F3 camera equipped with a 55 mm Nikkor macro lens. Although they were digitally scanned to be shown in this gallery, they were minimally altered (only corrected for brightness/contrast). All these pictures were part of an exhibit at the Artplace (Yale Physician Building, New Haven, CT), Spring 2005.

This is a series of pictures my 7-year old son, Nathan, has taken with my camera. He's particularly good at taking portraits of his little sister Manon, but one of his favorite type of pictures are the abstract kind that I like to do so much myself. I edited the pictures for him in Photoshop. These pictures were exhibited at City-Wide Open Studios in New Haven, CT, October 2007, and Nathan sold 4 of them!
