My current body of work, Prescott Arizona in 2007, is focused around my rapidly changing hometown. I chose this subject matter because no one has done it before. Many have shot in the same location as me, but none have had the same intention and vision as I have. The photographs isolate unique locations that are often overlooked in day to day travels. Because Prescott is a tourist destination there are very unique and beautiful places that never get a second glance. My photographs are hand made through traditional processes. I shoot with an 8x10 turn of the century view camera; I then make contact prints from those very large negatives. I do this because the view camera is an extraordinary tool that allows the user to see the world in a manner they normally would not. It inverts and reverses everything allowing the photographer to forget what it is and see it as it truly is. I choose to contact print because contact printing allows
